The personal, private and sensual work of art is wanton in that it represents its creator’s private emotions, fantasies about his- or herself, his or her way of life. Such works are inspired by the “I”, understood as the medium of the artist’s conflicts and experiences. We can all relate to these works because the emotions and relations they enact are primary constituents of our own lives. This display is a multiangled overview of the possibilities of representing the private in contemporary art.
The final list of exhibiting artists is yet to be confirmed. In January a wide variety of events, from poetry and rap recital through monodrama to solo dance, will accompany the exhibition.
